  • Date:

twiSTEM (Tri-State Women in STEM) is having an educational event for women only. twi-STEM is a non-profit group with a mission to bring STEM women together to provide networking and professional development opportunities and encourage girls to pursue careers in STEM fields. This event is an opportunity to learn what you didn’t even know you should know about the food you buy. Food fuels our bodies and either makes it stronger or weakens it. Get the inside scoop on grocery shopping from Brian James, co-owner of Simpson’s Supermarket and former CEO of Wesselman’s grocery chain. Brian began working in the grocery business in 1974 as a sacker and rose to become one of the top executives in the local grocery business. In 2008 Brian had the opportunity to purchase and run a local family owned business from its long time owners. As one who learned the business by working at all levels, Brian is knowledgeable and can answer questions you may not know you have about the economics and fresh choices for feeding your family.
