What’s happening at our version 3.0 meetup:
John Hanak, J.D., the Statewide Director of Purdue Technology Centers, will discuss the lifecyle of the startup from founding to funding to incubation to exit. John will also discuss the resources his group and other facilitators can offer to get and keep startups on track to success.
After completing his J.D., John spent 22 years with Inland Steel leaving in 2001 to become President and CEO of Digital Innovations. John went on to co-found North Riverside Partners before joining the Purdue Research Foundation.
With four locations, the Purdue Research Park network has sites in West Lafayette, Indianapolis, Merrillville and New Albany. The park network has more than 200 companies that employ about 4,100 people. A 2011 independent study reports that the park network provides an annual economic impact of $1.3 billion to the State of Indiana with over $200 million invested in facilities and infrastructure for the park network in the past decade.
The Purdue Research Park network of technology-based business incubators is designed to create a dynamic entrepreneurial business environment, to attract high-technology companies and to launch new startups.
In his roles, John has experienced and observed failures and successes in the startup world. John works on a daily basis with the entire spectrum of startups from individuals trying to build a business plan to incubator companies growing their business worldwide.
John is a tireless advocate for startups in Indiana. He was one of the organizers of the first Indiana Innovation Showcase, is the president elect of the Venture Club of Indiana and manages the P3 Alliance Angel Investor Network.
