Teams from the 2016 Technology Commercialization Academy (TCA) at the University of Southern Indiana will showcase new product ideas at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 22.ÃÂ
Following final presentations will be the opportunity to meet with TCA teams and learn more about their developed ideas. You will receive a pack of monopoly money. After visiting with the teams, you will “vote” on the best by “investing” your monopoly money.
Concepts from this 11-week program will be pitched to USI faculty and staff, local business leaders and regional entrepreneurs in the USI Business and Engineering Center (BEC) atrium. ÃÂ
TCA trains future professionals in fields such as engineering, business, health professions, education, and computer science to innovate. Employing Design Sprints and other âÂÂleanâ innovation methods, cost-effective solutions are developed and tested for commercial potential in as little as three days.ÃÂ
This year, TCA students, working with faculty and industry partners, utilized these methods to develop new products with the mission to help regional companies grow. New product ideas were inspired by cutting edge technology developed by Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane, other federal laboratories, and regional businesses. This year ideas are targeting:
⢠residential energy consumers (most of us)
⢠household management
⢠aviation industry
⢠professional and social life.
