What’s happening at our v4.0 meetup:

Innovation is happening in Evansville and everyone participating in Tech on Tap should be excited to be playing a part.

We are going to have a REAL Pitch from a REAL Evansville Innovation start-up!

I was fortunate to attend the first G.A.G.E. Pitch Practice and WOW! Tech on Tap member and Curvo Labs co-founder Andy Perry removed any doubt that Evansville could sprout a REAL DEAL innovation startup. If you haven’t seen a ready for prime time pitch, this is your opportunity. Curvo Labs has been putting the finishing touches on their launch.  They will be starting a seed round capital raise soon. We will hear their final tune-up pitch before they hit the fund raising road.

Andy has his B.A in Economics and an MBA from USI. His career has been in purchasing. He spent 8 1/2 years in his own company and has followed with purchasing positions in healthcare.

Andy will be joined be Steve Suhrheinrich, the other Curvo Labs co-founder who will be here from his home in San Diego. Steve is an Evansville native who has his B.S. in Math and Engineering Science from Vanderbilt and completed his MBA at San Diego State. Steve is a naval officer who later worked in private equity investing in early stage companies. He has been part of two start-ups in the online space. He currently leads a sales team for the Southern California region for Patch.com an AOL subsidiary.

Startup Weekend Evansville 2.0  (SWE) is coming February 22-24

To keep this opportunity top of mind for Tech on Tap members, we are going to feature a second short presentation by Tech on Tap member and SWE co-organizer Demi Wetzel. If you are thinking about attending SWE, you gotta hear Demi’s story. If you are thinking about mentoring or judging or sponsoring or supporting you gotta hear Demi’s story. If you are thinking about skipping SWE, YOU ABSOLUTELY GOTTA HEAR DEMI’s story.

Evansville Tech on Tap’s mission:

In simplest terms,  creating an Innovation Startup company requires only a Founder with an idea and a Funder with Capital. In reality Innovation Startups succeed with a Founder, a Funder and a multitude of Facilitators playing supporting roles. Our mission is to support connections between the niches of the Innovation Ecosystem in Evansville. Everyone with an interest in seeing innovation based companies start and flourish in Evansville is welcome to join and attend.

Each FREE meetup will focus on three things:

Sharing time at a comfortable venue – Cash Bar Begins at 5:30 p.m. Creating an opportunity for niches of Evansville’s Innovation Ecosystem to connect and learn about one another. You decide who you want to talk with, what you want to talk about and how long you want to talk about it. (Please no business solicitations, if you are a service provider this is not the time to sell.) Begins at 5:30 p.m. and resumes after presentation. Learning about the Innovation Ecosystem through a 15 minute presentation on a topic relevant to starting and supporting Innovation based companies. – Begins at 6:30 p.m.
