Tech-on-Tap

MakerSpace Sneak Preview

Event Details

  • Date:

MakerSpace is coming to Evansville!

MakerSpaces make technologies available to the masses while building a community supporting the implementation of those technologies.

Think – a publicly available high tech workshop full of people tinkering on really cool stuff. Think – Oculus VR which was hatched in a MakerSpace by a 20 year old college dropout and just acquired by Facebook for $2 billion.

Tech on Tap will be launching the beta version of MakerSpace in my home workshop. Our space will focus on Desktop Digital Manufacturing, Robotics & Automation and Electronic Prototyping Boards. To kick off the beta period we have a 3D Printer, Desktop CNC mill and Arduino board with motor shield. As we learn from this experience we will add more tools.

Our goal will be to transition this Tech on Tap MakerSpace to a public space at Innovation Pointe. We also hope MakerSpaces with other focuses will launch in other public access venues throughout the community.
