It’s official, MakerSpace is launching at Innovation Pointe. Through the diligence and vision of Shance Sizemore and Debbie Dewey at G.A.G.E., Evansville’s first publicly accessible MakerSpace is about to become a reality. Our friends at Evansville Idea Space are also joining in this effort to build a community of creative MAKERS helping drive Evansville toward a culture of innovation.ÃÂ
This is your chance to ” be there when it happens”. It is not going to be glamorous, but we will be working to organize the 6000 square feet of space. Bring your strong backs and your strong minds for a healthy mix of physical and intellectual work ( some basic hand tools would help as well).ÃÂ
We will be ÃÂ
÷ Moving extra stuff from Makerspace into storage area
÷ Organizing storage space to fit the extra stuff
÷ Sweeping (lots of sweeping)
÷ Space setup and design (ideation)
÷ Possibly building some work tables from stuff in the basement (i.e. cutting metal shelves and mounting them to wall or using filing cabinets and old doors)
÷ Creation of list and prioritization of needs for possible donations (tables, chairs, tools, etc.)
÷ Labeling/setting up of electronics âÂÂboneyardâÂÂ
Pizza and soft drinks will be servedÃÂ
