MakerCourse 101 – Rapid Prototyping (4 weeks – 8 Sessions)

The MakerStation at Innovation Pointe will again offer MakerCourse 101. Participation is free for MakerStation and Station Coworking members at Innovation Pointe. The 4 week (8 session) hands-on course will  be available to non-members for $100. Anyone with interest (ages 12 and up) is eligible to enroll! Please click here to register

Sessions are twice weekly for four weeks on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. Each session lasts approximately two hours. Participants will have access to the MakerStation, equipment and materials for the duration of the four week course. 

MakerCourse 101: Operation & Workflows for Rapid Prototyping

If you’re curious about 3D printing and/or the capabilities of a CNC machine, this is the course for you! MakerCourse 101 begins with the fundamentals of using open source 2D and 3D design software. Participants learn the basics of safety, operation, and workflows using 3D printers, CNC routers, and our impressive CNC laser etcher/cutter. As you complete your designs you will select the proper tool to translate idea to object and join the world of Desktop Digital Manufacturing.

The course will be led by Dr. Art Chlebowski from USI’s College of Engineering. Dr. Chlebowski completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Purdue and brings expertise in engineering, materials, electronics, prototyping and he is the co-founder of a medical device company.

Space is limited to 12 participants. Registration for this course is first come, first serve. 

Recap: Sessions will meet on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. They begin May 23rd and run 4 weeks ending June 16th. For non-members: the $100 fee gives you access to ALL sessions and one month’s full access to the MakerStation!
