Beginning February 1st, the MakerStation at Innovation Pointe will again offerÃÂ MakerCourse 101. Participation is free for MakerStation and Station Coworking members at Innovation Pointe. The 4 week (8 session) ÃÂ hands-on course will ÃÂ be available to non-members for $100. Anyone with interest (ages 12 and up) is eligible to enroll! If you are a non-member we will contact you after you register with payment instructions.
Sessions are twice weekly for four weeks on Mondays and Thursdays* at 5:00 p.m. Each session lasts approximately two hours. Participants will have access to the Maker Station, equipment and materials for the duration of the four week course.ÃÂ
*Please note one session will be scheduled for Wednesday 2/17 so you will be free to attend our 2/18 Tech-on-Tap event
MakerCourse 101: Operation & Workflows for Rapid Prototyping
If youâÂÂre curious about 3D printing and/or the capabilities of a CNC machine, this is the course for you! MakerCourse 101 begins with the fundamentals of using open source 2D and 3D design software. Participants learnàthe basics of safety, operation, and workflows using 3D printers, CNC routers, and our impressive CNC laser etcher/cutter. As you complete your designs you will select the proper tool to translate idea to object and join the world of Desktop Digital Manufacturing.
The course will be led by Dr. Art Chlebowski from USIâÂÂs College of Engineering. Dr. Chlebowski completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Purdue and brings expertise in engineering, materials, electronics, prototyping and he is the co-founder of a medical device company.
