Tech-on-Tap

Kyle Shipley – The Lean Startup Method

Event Details

  • Date:

NEW VENUE – EVANSVILLE COMMERCE BANK

What’s happening at our v8.0 meetup:

Founders usually find the trap of seeing both problem and solution from their own perspective. This creates a feedback loop where the founder becomes increasingly certain of the value in their solution. The problem? You aren’t selling your solution to yourself!

Enter Eric Reis. Eric wrote a transformational book The Lean Startup to describe a new vision in the way startups form, grow and succeed. Eric articulated a method using the Build – Measure – Learn feedback loop which takes the solution to the customers early and often during development. The Lean Startup Method is an iterative process designed to give the customer what they need, want and will buy.

Tech on Tap member and presenter, Kyle Shipley is an early adopter and dedicated student/practitioner/evangelist of Lean Startup Methodology. Kyle is co-founder of the Indianapolis Lean Startup Circle and a gifted software developer with broad experiential background. Kyle has worked actively to move the Indy startup community toward Lean Startup Methods and is coming to spread that vision to Tech on Tap.

Learning about the Innovation Ecosystem through a 15 minute presentation on a topic relevant to starting and supporting Innovation based companies. – Begins at 6:00 p.m. Did we mention FREE?

Evansville Tech on Tap’s mission:

In simplest terms,  creating an Innovation Startup company requires only a Founder with an idea and a Funder with Capital. In reality Innovation Startups succeed with a Founder, a Funder and a multitude of Facilitators playing supporting roles. Our mission is to support connections between the niches of the Innovation Ecosystem in Evansville. Everyone with an interest in seeing innovation based companies start and flourish in Evansville is welcome to join and attend.
