With data science being a relatively new and up-and-coming field, educational programs to support the growing demand are only beginning to form. The undergraduate level is drastically behind in creating viable programs when compared to graduate levels. Part of the problem is the vast array of fields where data science can be applied, which leads to tough decisions about what topics you teach and what topics will be missed. This discussion will talk about the educational landscape, as well as discuss some of the decisions UE made in starting its undergraduate data science program.
