Today’s Story: Ryan Bixler-Rigg – Community Development Manager American Cancer Society

Ryan is originally from Albion IL and received his MBA from Eastern Illinois University.  After spending the first half of his professional life in the banking industry, Ryan made a career-changing move into the non-profit sector.  For thirteen years he has been a Community Development Manager for the American Cancer Society in charge of Relay For Life events in several communities including Crawford, Daviess, Gibson, Harrison, Knox, Martin, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick.  In 2018 he formed the Evansville Volunteer Leadership Council to advance the mission of the American Cancer Society in Vanderburgh and surrounding counties.  That first year the Council launched the brand new fundraiser Real Men Wear Pink which raised over $40,000 and in 2019 raised over $88,000.  In 2020, he will be helping launch a new campaign in Evansville called ResearcHERS in which women fundraise for women-led cancer research.
