Overview of Selected Data Science Tools, Models and Techniques
Description: Last year Jim Spath participated in the General Assembly Data Science Immersive Program which is a full-time 12-week intensive course in data science. Topics included GIT and Unix scripting, relational databases, data analysis and Python, Machine learning, modeling techniques and big data and visualization, presentation and reporting.
In this talk, Jim will present an overview of a wide variety of data science tools, models and techniques with a focus on describing how they might be used in your organization.
The goal for Greater Evansville Data Science Meetup is to strengthen and connect the Evansville area Data Sciences Ecosystem
Our events are structured to present a use case for data sciences which is presented from a non-technical perspective followed by a technical discussion of the tools and techniques used to implement this case. We always reserve some time before and after the presentation for informal networking. Our events are ideal for those unsure of how or why to use data sciences and create an environment where you can meet folks with skills to help you use these tools to solve your needs. For data scientists, our events are a great way to expand your knowledge, meet others practicing in the space and perhaps pick up projects for fun or profit.
