Doors open at 11:30am, Pitches at noon, pizza, and then the winners announced.

After having a capacity crowd for the Semifinals, please join us for the APPCOM Finals! $15K in prizes at stake. Five teams will pitch to a panel of judges. Please come out for the excitement and to support some of Evansville’s brave entrepreneurs as they pitch what they hope will be the next billion dollar tech venture.

The Business and Engineering (BE) building is on the bottom-center of the campus map, just right of the south end of Reflection Lake. Enter USI via University Boulevard at the top of the map. Turn right immediately at the circle, which will take you around the western edge of campus, passing the lake until you reach the lake’s end, where you will find on your left the BE and parking Lot J. Entering the Business and Engineering (BE) building from Lot J, you will find the APPCOM Finals in the first room on the left, BE 0035, Lippert Hall. Where to go will be clear.

Eagle Innovation APP Competition (APPCOM) is an application idea Competition, designed to solicit the best APP ideas from the greater USI community and connect those ideas to teams, mentors, and resources to develop APP ideas with the potential to effect job creation in Southwest Indiana.

What We Do

APPCOM is an application idea competition designed to develop talent, grow our vibrant innovation community, and solicit the best APP ideas from the greater USI community and connect those ideas to teams, mentors, and resources to develop APP ideas with the potential to create jobs in Southwest Indiana.

How It Works

Ten APP idea submissions have been chosen by a panel of judges to move to the semi-final round. APPCOM has provided these 10 semifinalists with $250 and supplies to prepare for this expo-style pitch to gauge interest in their APP; up to 5 finalists will be selected based on this simulation. 

The finalists will continue to develop their APP ideas, supported by workshops and mentors, for a final presentation. There will be 2 teams selected by expert judges as winners of cash and other prizes. USI will contribute $15K toward prize money ($10K for 1st place and $5K for 2nd).
