Early stage startup Pocket Cab founder Avram Rampersaud

What’s happening at our v11.0 meetup:

Avram Rampersaud is a 2010 IU Kelly School graduate who went on to complete his MS in Information Systems at Kelly School in 2011. Avram went to work for Ersnt & Young in IT Risk Assurance and Enterprise Intelligence but continued to be bothered by a problem he had experienced in Bloomington. As a student, Avram frequently experienced difficulty securing a cab ride. As he thought about this problem and studied the industry, he realized his problem was widely shared and represented an opportunity. From Avram’s problem has come Avram’s solution..PocketCab.

PocketCab is a smart phone app intended to drive disruptive efficiency into an industry which has changed little in decades. PocketCab leverages instant communications, geolocation,  and payment processing to produce a solid win for both taxi drivers and taxi riders.

PocketCab was chosen as one of the first 5 companies to pitch at Indiana Innovation Showcase on 7/11. Avram will be fresh off of this experience and ready to wow our crowd.

Each FREE meetup will focus on three things:

Sharing time at a comfortable venue – at 5:00 p.m. Creating an opportunity for niches of Evansville’s Innovation Ecosystem to connect and learn about one another. You decide who you want to talk with, what you want to talk about and how long you want to talk about it. (Please no business solicitations, if you are a service provider this is not the time to sell.) Begins at 5:00 p.m. and resumes after presentation. Learning about the Innovation Ecosystem through a 15 minute presentation on a topic relevant to starting and supporting Innovation based companies. – Begins at 6:00 p.m. Did we mention FREE?
